Ningbo CPC Standing Committee Member and Deputy Mayor Xu Yan Conducts Research Visit to Ningbo ULVAC

On the afternoon of February 28, Xu Yan, a member of the Ningbo CPC Standing Committee and Deputy Mayor, led a team to visit CSI Group’s Ningbo ULVAC Vacuum Technology Co., Ltd. to inspect and investigate the development of key high-tech enterprises. He was accompanied by Ma Jianjiang, Deputy Director of the Ningbo Municipal Government Office, and Chen Qianghong, Deputy Director of the Ningbo Science and Technology Bureau, along with officials from the municipal government policy research office, Jiangbei District Government Office, District Science and Technology Bureau, and the District Emerging Industries Service Center. Wu Jie, Party Secretary and General Manager of CSI Group, as well as Chairman and General Manager of Ningbo ULVAC, warmly received the delegation.

Xu Yan and his delegation first visited the company’s exhibition hall and research center, where they conducted an on-site inspection of the vacuum technology intelligent manufacturing research and development laboratory and had cordial discussions with R&D personnel. During the visit, Chairman Wu Jie provided an overview of CSI Group’s history, industrial layout, development strategy, and the construction of its research institute and talent cultivation. Additionally, Shibayama Hiroshi, Executive Director of the Ningbo ULVAC Research Institute, introduced the company’s product structure, technological applications, innovations, and industry-academia-research collaborations. During a subsequent symposium, Chairman Wu Jie delivered a special report on the CSI group’s research platform development, integration of industry, academia, and government, R&D team cultivation, technological achievements transformation, and future development plans.

Deputy Mayor Xu Yan fully affirmed Ningbo ULVAC’s achievements in introducing advanced foreign technologies, participating in the construction of the Yongjiang Laboratory’s third-generation semiconductor micro-nano platform, adhering to independent technological innovation, and promoting industrialization. He emphasized that enterprises are the main drivers of technological innovation and industrialization, and that the government strongly supports their collaboration with the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Institute of Materials and the Yongjiang Laboratory. He also encouraged the company to further strengthen its collaborative innovation mechanism with universities, accelerate breakthroughs in critical vacuum technology bottlenecks, expand industrial development opportunities, and build a vacuum technology industrial ecosystem, contributing to Ningbo’s development of new productive forces and high-quality economic growth.

Additionally, the third-generation semiconductor micro-nano platform, jointly established by ULVAC and the Yongjiang Laboratory, is set to be implemented in the new phase of the Yongjiang Laboratory.
